About Highness

Highness was created in 2020 with a simple goal: help people better understand their cannabis experiences over time.

Since the beginning, Highness has been built as an independent app focused on privacy, simplicity, and a thoughtful user experience.

Built independently

Highness is an independent project created and maintained by me, Pedro.

I’m originally from Brazil and have been living in Amsterdam for over 10 years, where my interest in the cannabis world really began. I work professionally as a User Experience Designer, and I use that experience to make Highness as thoughtful, clear, and easy to use as possible.

Today, I also build and improve the app myself in my free time, including evenings and weekends. New features, updates, and performance improvements are all part of an ongoing effort to keep making Highness better.

Privacy first

Privacy has always been a core part of Highness.

Highness has no servers of its own and does not store your diary data anywhere outside your device.

That means:

Your data stays local by default
No account required
No user tracking
No selling of personal data
No hidden cloud storage run by Highness

If you choose to use Sync with iCloud, your data is stored through Apple so it can stay updated across your devices.

Why Highness Plus exists

Highness Plus was introduced as a simple way to help support the project with a small yearly fee.

The goal is not to make the free version feel restricted or incomplete. Highness is designed so that the core experience remains useful and enjoyable for everyone, including people who do not pay.

Highness Plus simply adds a few extra features while helping support the future of the app.

For early supporters

Some users previously supported Highness through a one-time purchase to remove ads.

As a thank you for that early support, those users can use Restore Purchases and receive lifetime access to Highness Plus.

More transparency

Highness now includes dedicated Terms of Use and Privacy Policy pages to make things clearer and more transparent.

These pages explain how the app works, how your data is handled, and what users can expect.
